Short Term Respite
What is STR?
Short Term Respite (STR) is a type of NDIS support that provides eligible participants with a brief stay away from their usual home and everyday informal supports.
You'll often hear the terms Short Term Respite (STR) and Short Term Accommodation (STA) used interchangeably. In fact, they refer to the same NDIS support. While the NDIS now commonly uses the term Short Term Respite (STR), many providers and participants still use STA.
STR is designed to support participants while also giving their informal supports the opportunity to take a short break from their caring responsibilities, allowing them to recharge and continue providing the best possible support.

What sets us apart?
No two participants are the same, so why should every STR be?
At One Culture, we take a personalised approach to every Short Term Respite (STR). Before your stay, we take the time to sit down with you and get to know you—your interests, your goals, and what you'd like to get out of the experience.
Whether you're looking to build confidence, develop life skills, become more independent, make new friends, or simply enjoy new experiences, we'll design your STR around what matters most to you.
From the activities you participate in to the location and timing of your accommodation, every detail is carefully considered to create an experience that's meaningful, enjoyable, and aligned with your goals.
Our aim isn't just to provide a place to stay—it's to create a respite experience that helps you grow, build confidence, and make the most of every opportunity.
